ECLC is a non-profit international early years school for children aged 2 1/2 to 6 years. It is an English-speaking school with an enrollment of approximately 170 children representing 25 different countries.

Located in Hannamdong, ECLC is an IPC (International Primary Curriculum) kindergarten.

Since its inception, ECLC has been governed by a parent-run Board. The school was formed in 1969 as the Seoul International Nursery School, and sought to create an environment that would encourage creativity through a program based on Maria Montessori's ideas. The school started in a parent's home with 8 children speaking 5 different languages.

Since 1969, ECLC has grown into one of the international schools of choice for early year¡¯s education in Seoul. Our many changes have included a change in location and a focused development of the curriculum framework to accommodate the needs and expectations of the school's increasingly diverse and mobile international community. The school now offers a learning programme which may best be described as a ¡®synthesis of best practice¡¯ encompassing current understandings of how young children learn.

The School is advised and run by a Board.

The President and five other members of the Board are elected from the parents of the ECLC students and serve for one-year terms as volunteers. Along with input from the Head of the School as the seventh Board member, the Board sets policy and determines how the school is to be administered.

Through both the curriculum and our teaching, we aim to develop the cognitive, emotional, social and physical potential of the child in a nurturing, secure and stimulating environment.
