"Both of our daughters have been attending ECLC since fall of 2011(toddler & K1 program) and my husband and I are very happy with the school. We were hoping for a friendly and diverse culture and a creative environment for our oldest daughter coming from one of the top Montessori preschool in NYC. ECLC not only exceeded our expectations but also it provided the wonderful sense of community to us fostered by the school's administration, teachers and parents. I can confidently say that if you're moving from another country, this school will be a place where kids and parents can transition easily. "

"I feel I definitely should share with you and others how much my kids love going to ECLC!! They both love school - and we love how mature, positive and confident they are becoming! Thank you so much for this beautiful first image of school that you all are building for them which will last a lifetime!"

"As a working mom who is not always able to pay as much attention to the school as I would like, I still can raise my child in such a confident way - all because I send my child to ECLC!!!"

"Our children's happiness at school reassures us every day that ECLC is the right choice for our two daughters. It doesn't get much better than seeing our toddler get on the bus every day with a grin from ear to ear, blowing us kisses as she leaves, and returning every bit as happy."
Cris Schneider, Brazil
"After spending 5 years in Korea we are now returning to our home country Brazil and want to thank ECLC for all it has done for our family. Fabio now 10 and Beatriz now 7 years old arrived in Korea still very young and without speaking any word in English. We were very worried and concerned about their adaptation. It was amazing how quickly they learned and how happy and confident they became after just a few months at school. Away from our country we found in ECLC an extension of our family. Day after day we lived the happiness of seeing our children grow up in a way we could not imagine before. We have the school teachers and staff as special friends that we will carry always in our memories. We know it was very important for Fabio and Beatriz's development to grow up in a school where teachers teach with love and respect children the way they are.
Thank you ECLC for the care and kindness you dedicated to our family. We will miss you a lot."

"I applied to ECLC for my 30 month old son Dylan on the back of its good reputation. When my son was enrolled into ECLC's Toddler class, for the first 3 months I was not particularly impressed with the school. It may have been due to my high expectations built up based on the strong recommendations of parents who referred me to ECLC. However, over time, I noticed that my shy, introverted son started to blossom. I noticed a change in his personality. He became visibily more confident and more interactive with other children. I realize now, how very much I appreciate the learning approach that ECLC takes with kids at such a tender age. They make learning fun for the kids whether it is about numbers, words or how to interact. In becoming familiar with the school, I also realize the high quality of the teachers at ECLC. They pay close attention to the learning needs of each child. While I do not know how other pre-school programs are, I have absolutely no regrets in sending my son to ECLC which is why he is now in his 3rd year at ECLC. I am certain that my son is very well prepared to move forward to elementary school. And as testament to how happy I have been with ECLC, my 16 month daughter will be attending ECLC next year! Thanks ECLC for taking care of my children and helping them to develop!"

"My daughter complains when it is the weekend - she wants to go to school. She has had the best possible start to her education in a school with a great international community. The supportive atmosphere encourages and values every child. I can't recommend ECLC enough."

"I would like to commend ECLC on the manner in which it both educates and entertains our two boys, 5 and 4 years old.
From the moment we met with the Head of School, Mr Whitney, we understood that the passion, and overall loving environment that our children experience every day, comes from the top.
ECLC is like a family member to us. We love the fact that parents are so included in the day to day , whilst the important decisions are left for those that are most experienced at it. The teachers are all highly educated and passionate themselves in caring for each child's individual needs, with a learn at their pace mentality.
Whilst I believe education can start at a young age, I believe the ECLC curriculum offers the right level of education, whilst still allowing children to be children, with a clever mix of learning and play! Communication with the parents is well managed and there is no shortage of support provided to parents through topical forums each month led by Mr Whitney. These are invaluable to keep both parties on the same page in raising our children. Having also been part of the PTA committee and school board, and hence intimately involved in the day to day operations of the school, we were impressed by the measured, honourable and ethical approach to which the school is managed.
We highly recommend ECLC for an International child's education and we will be extremely sad when the time comes to move on."

"I have only positive feedback about ECLC's "actions" and would really like to recommend school for all expat children - we do not want to have our 5 years old to go to "real" school but because she is by herself really willing to learn to read and count, is this done perfectly in ECLC - children learn by playing and doing different things. ECLC is not "too much school", it is great combination of kindergarten and pre-school for students under 7 years old. ECLC's standards and methods are near by the methods we are used to have in Finland and surely in most of the Nordic and European countries as well."

"This is our daughter's second year at ECLC (she is now in Preschool), and we couldn't be happier. At ECLC, she is not only exposed to age-appropriate lessons in traditional academic subjects (alphabet, counting, etc.) but is also learning how to be a good friend, student and learner. ECLC has taught her valuable lessons
about how to be kind and respectful to others and responsible for her own belongings and actions. Most importantly, ECLC is a warm, loving and supportive community for our whole family; a home away from home. My daughter comes home from school each day happy and feeling good about herself and her capabilities. ECLC has been one of the most positive elements of our time in Seoul.

"Although our son was born in Korea, we had always planned on returning to the States before preschool. Plans change.
We looked at nearly every option, with the chief consideration of finding a program in line with our opinions regarding early childhood education. Eventually, eliminating for that and geography pretty much narrowed it down to just two schools. Of those, ECLC was, far and away, our first choice. But ECLC was also, lo and behold, out of space. As a result of another family's unexpected move at the tail end of a school year, we were able to get a spot at our second choice, and we took the opportunity while it remained open. It was and still is what we consider to be a good school, and after having sussed out the real situation in Seoul at that time, we counted ourselves lucky.
Our son enjoyed the school, was very proud to belong somewhere, and--what we had been most concerned about?he made friends. The easy thing would have been to leave him in the good-enough school and move on to the next pesky dilemma. But this school did not align with our preferences and our child's specific needs as well as we believed ECLC would; the discrepancy haunted us with the disquieting feeling that we were unable to do for our son what we really thought was best. This, in turn, raised the very real dilemma of what to do if a spot at ECLC opened up. Changing schools is of course a big deal for a little one. We consulted the parent grapevine. We fretted. We debated. What to do?
As you've surely gathered, we did indeed take an open spot at ECLC. And in addition to the type of program we¡¯re most comfortable with, in just the first month we got more in terms of open communication, useful information, and opportunities for involvement than we got in more than a year at the aforementioned school. And our son kept his old friends anyway.
We also know at least one family with a child currently or formerly at pretty much every other anglophone international option in the city, as well as the American DoD schools, and the French and German schools. We all compare notes, as families with kids are wont to do. We would not trade with any of them.
Why put such stock into preschool? The way we see it, if you go to the wrong college, you can always go back. But you can't go back to preschool."
